Stratmoor (commonly known as Stratmoor Hills) is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP) located in and governed by El Paso County, Colorado, United States. The CDP is a part of the Colorado Springs, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Stratmoor CDP has an area of 1,699 acres (6.874 km2), including 14 acres (0.055 km2) of water.
Stratmoor is located at the fork of U.S. Route 87 and CanAm Highway. Interstate 25 enters Stratmoor and becomes US 87. CanAm Highway runs east then heads southeast and becomes Las Vegas Street. Academy Boulevard forms a boundary to the south and southeast. B Street emerges west from US 87 and exits off towards southwest. Crestridge Avenue emerges north from B Street heading northwest and ends at Cheyenne Meadows Road passing Stratmoor Hills along the way.
The City of Fountain annexed part of the Stratmoor CDP in 2014. The area annexed was a 60-acre parcel just west of Interstate 25 at Exit 135 and north of South Academy Boulevard. There is now a Walmart store, a Sam’s Club, and a strip mall on the annexed land. Fountain Creek also passes through the CDP.
Stratmoor is a fairly sized community with several shopping areas and public services including Wellco Hardwoods, U-Pull-&-Pay, Front Range Camaros, Sam’s Club, Walmart Supercenter, Stratmoor Liquor, Cheyenne Mountain Dental Care, Cheyenne Mountain Modern Dentistry and Orthodontics, Devil or Angel Bar & Grill and Affordable Flags & Fireworks. A park along Fountain Creek is called Stratmoor Valley Park and Trailhead. Spirit Life Restoration Church and Calvary Community Church are two of the only places of worship in Stratmoor. Stratmoor Hills Elementary serves Stratmoor.
