Sherrelwood is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP) located in and governed by Adams County, Colorado, United States. The CDP is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. It has an area of 1,568 acres (6.346 km2), including 14 acres (0.056 km2) of water. Within the community is where Western Hills belongs.
Sherrelwood is situated at the fork of an interchange by I-25 with US 36 with I-25 forming a natural border to the east running north and south and US 36 emerging from I-270 west along the Denver-Boulder Turnpike between Sherrelwood and Twin Lakes. 84th Avenue runs along to the north between US 287 and I-25. Pecos Street runs straight through the middle of the community connecting the adjacent communities of Federal Heights to the north and Twin Lakes to the south. To the southwest is also an interchange of US 36 with US 287.
Sherrelwood has several shopping areas including The Irish Home Farm, arc Thrift Store, Army & Navy Surplus Store; pubs and food restaurants include, Great Scotts Eatery Denver, 52eighty Sports Bar LLC, Las Delicias North and Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ & Brew. Schools within the community include Instructional Services Center, Ranum Middle School, Fairview Elementary School, Metropolitan Arts Academy, Pima Medical Institute – Denver, Sherrelwood Elementary School, and Adventure Elementary. Places of worship of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mt Zion Lutheran Church and Eternal Rock Church are the few serving the community. Sherrelwood Park and Waddell Park are the only parks in Sherrelwood.
