North Washington is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP) located in and governed by Adams County, Colorado, United States. The CDP is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The North Washington CDP has an area of 3,473 acres (14.053 km2), including 161 acres (0.650 km2) of water.

 

North Washington borders the communities of Twin Lakes and Sherrelwood to the southwest, to the southwest of Welby, to the west of Commerce City, to the east of Berkley, and to the north of Denver. The Southern Platte River forms a natural border to the east while Clear Creek to the north. Pecos Street forms a natural border to the west.

 

The major highways of I-76, I-25, I-270 and SH 53 pass through North Washington. I-76 and I-25 share the interchange north of the downtown area while I-76 also conjuncts with I-270 to the northeastern border. SH 52 or Broadway runs north and south between US 36 and I-25 then turns east and becomes 58th Avenue. At the fork of I-76 and I-270 interchange is where Cat Lake is situated.

 

North Washington is primarily a commercial area with different industry businesses including Mountain High Appliance Warehouse and Clearance Center, Rep Fitness, Denver Mart, Circle K, Hammond’s Candies, Denver Hardwood Co Inc, South Platte Trading Co., Extra Building Materials Inc, LKQ Colorado, Alpine Lumber Company, All Truck and Trailer Parts, Boise Cascade Building Materials Distribution, and Yoda Jim’s.

 

The RTD station linking Berkley and Denver also passes through North Washington and stops at Pecos Junction station.
