The Town of Morrison is a home rule municipality in Jefferson County, Colorado, United States. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is located nearby. The town has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km2), all of it land. Morrison is southwest of Denver and is located on State Highway 470 and Morrison Road.

 

Morrison is located at the interchange of Colorado State Highway 470 and Colorado State Highway 8. It is bordered by Idledale to the northwest, Indian Hills to the southwest and Lakewood to the north and northeast. Major highways serving the town include SH 470, SH 8, and US 285. SH 74 emerges west from SH 8 while SH 8 crosses over west of SH 470 and becomes Bear Creek Avenue then hard turns south and ends at US 287. Bear Creek runs along Bear Creek Avenue west and east.

 

Morrison’s point of interest and notable landmark includes Morrison Natural History Museum, Morrison Park, Morrison Town Hall Theatre, Willow Ridge Manor, Walker Mansion Ruins, Walker’s Dream Lookout, Eagle’s Eye Shelter and Mount Falcon Park West Trailhead. The town has plenty of parks and trailheads including Mount Morrison South Ridge Trailhead, Morrison Park, Mount Falcon Park, Mount Falcon Park East Trailhead, Mt Glennon Park. It is home to Mt Falcon lying at the extreme southwest of the community and Mt Glennon at the western side of SH 470.
