Falcon is an unincorporated community exurb in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. It lies along US 24 about 14 miles northeast of Colorado Springs.
Black Forest, an area of dense evergreen and pine trees, is north of Falcon. Meadow Lake Airport, a small, general aviation airport close to the Colorado Springs Airport, lies in east Falcon, to the south of Highway 24. The main source of services that are unavailable in Falcon can be found in downtown Colorado Springs, located about 14 miles southwest of Falcon.
Falcon neighborhoods include Antler’s Ridge, The Meadows, Elkhorn Estates, Meridian Ranch, Woodmen Hills, Paint Brush Hills, Falcon Heights, and Sunny Slope Estates (an older Falcon neighborhood established in the late ’70s, early ’80s with 5+ acre parcels zoned for livestock, bordered by Falcon Highway and East Blaney Road).
Highway 24 or U.S. Route 24 runs through the community diagonally and serves as one of the main roads as well as Meridian Road which runs north-south. Londonderry Drive runs east-west of the community parallel with Stapleton Drive sandwiching in between the Antler Creek Golf Course. The community can be accessed by East Woodmen Road coming from the west.
Falcon Elementary School of Technology on Falcon Highway, Falcon Middle School on Towner Avenue, Falcon High School on Lambert Road, and Liberty Tree Academy on Eastonville Road are the schools that served Falcon. Few food chains exist in the community located in the downtown area including Arby’s, KFC, and McDonald’s, as well as a trailhead called Rock Island Trailhead. Popular stores such as Walmart Supercenter, Dollar Tree, and Safeway dots the downtown area.
