Edgewater Jefferson County

The City of Edgewater is a home rule municipality located in Jefferson County, Colorado, United States. Edgewater is surrounded by Denver to the east, Lakewood to the south and west, and Wheat Ridge to the north. The city is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Front Range Urban Corridor. The town has a total area of 445 acres (1.799 km2), all of it land. Sloan’s Lake, a pond that once extended into Edgewater, now lies within the city limits of Denver just to the east of Edgewater.

Edgewater is bordered by Wheat Ridge to the north, Denver to the east and Lakewood to the south. It is immediately adjacent to the unincorporated neighborhoods of East Wheatridge Condos to the north, Edgewood to the south and Sloan’s Lake to the east. State Highway 95 forms a natural border to the east. Harlan Street runs north and south in the middle of Edgewater effectively bisecting the city west and east. 24th Avenue emerges west from SH 95 or Sheridan Boulevard and ends at Pierce Street to the west.

Edgewater is a mixed residential and commercial community and is populated with food establishments along Sheridan Boulevard including Burger King, Joyride Brewing Company, Sonic Drive-In, Shiso Sushi & Oyster Bar, Rupert’s at the Edge, Dunkin’, Chick-fil-A, and McDonald’s. Edgewater Elementary School, Jefferson High School and Edgewater Library – Jefferson County Public Library are the places of education serving the city. Citizens Park Pavillion is immediately adjacent to Edgewater Elementary School, across to the south is the Edgewater Public Market.
