Downtown is a neighborhood in Boulder, Colorado, United States. It is located at the center of Boulder. Bordered by Mapleton Hill to the north, Lower Arapahoe to the south, and Whittier to the east. The neighborhood straddles Colorado State Highway 119. SH 119 runs west and east and stretches through the west and east point of Downtown. Walnut Street serves as the main street.
Downtown is composed mostly of commercial establishments including The Bradley Boulder Inn, St Julien Hotel & Spa; restaurants including Leaf, Foolish Craig’s Cafe, Illegal Pete’s – Boulder, The Post Chicken & Beer- Boulder, Bramble & Hare, Pasta Jay’s, Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar – Boulder, Jill’s Restaurant & Bistro, The West End Tavern, and Sherpa’s Adventure Restaurant and Bar Kitchen; shopping areas including Pearl Street Mall, Ramble on Pearl, BoCo Life LLC, Where The Buffalo Roam, Paper Doll, Old Tibet, Lunieva and Urban Outfitters. Parks and open spaces in the neighborhood include Canyon Pointe Park, Hiram Fullen Park, and Fortune Park.
Charming Downtown Boulder centers on pedestrian-only Pearl Street Mall, known for its street performers and lined with cozy cafes and bars, plus boutiques and art galleries. The Boulder Theater is an intimate art deco venue hosting concerts, indie films, and community events. Vendors sell produce and gourmet goods at the bustling Boulder Farmers’ Market, and the Boulder Creek Path is popular for biking.
