Arvada Jefferson County

The City of Arvada (/ɑːrˈvædə/) is a home rule municipality located in Jefferson and Adams counties, Colorado, United States. In addition to being part of the Front Range Urban Corridor, the city is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. In Denver, the Colorado State Capitol is located 7 miles (11 km) northwest of the Olde Town Arvada historic district.

Arvada is a city in northeastern Jefferson County. A small part of the city extends into Adams County. The city’s total area was 25,325 acres (102.485 km2), including 422 acres (1.709 km2) of water. It is bordered by the communities of Leyden, Broomfield, Westminster, Berkley, Wheat Ridge and Golden.

Commuters to Denver and Boulder mostly live in Arvada. The Regional Transportation District (RTD) G line electric multiple unit commuter rail connects Arvada directly with Denver Union Station. RTD also offers 13 bus routes serving Arvada. Retail corridors include Wadsworth Boulevard, 52nd Avenue, 64th Avenue, Ralston Road, and Kipling Street.

Arvada is home to Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge. Other green spaces and parks in Arvada include Lake Arbor Park, Majestic View Nature Center, The Ralston-Central Park, Thundercloud Park, Danny Kendrick Park West, Britton Park, The Meadows at West Woods Park, Haystack Plateau Park, West Arvada Dog Park, Long Lake Regional Park, and Van Bibber Open Space. It is also home to Sky Zone Trampoline Park located at the fork of the intersection of SH 121 and I-76. Other entertainment areas in Arvada include Cussler Museum and Conundrum Escape Rooms. Arvada is also home to several golf courses including West Woods Golf Club to the western part of the city and Indian Tree Golf Club and Lake Arbor Golf Course located along SH 121.

Located at the intersection of Interstate 70 and State Highway 121, Arvada is the western terminus of Interstate 76. SH 72, SH 93, and SH 95 are also state highways in Arvada. Major highways near Arvada include Interstate 25, Interstate 270, U.S. Highway 36 and U.S. Highway 287. Nearby Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport and Denver International Airport serve Arvada.
