Franktown is an unincorporated town, post office, and census-designated place (CDP) in and governed by Douglas County, Colorado, United States. The CDP is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. Franktown CDP consists of 1,893 acres (7.661 km2), including 8.9 acres (0.036 km2) of water.

 

Colorado State Highways 83 and 86 intersect in the center of Franktown. SH 83 leads north 9 miles (14 km) to Parker and south 45 miles (72 km) to Colorado Springs, while SH 86 leads east 9 miles (14 km) to Elizabeth and west 7 miles (11 km) to Castle Rock, the Douglas County seat. Franktown is located at the intersection of Colorado State Highway 86 and Colorado State Highway 83. It straddles SH 83. SH 83 runs north and south and SH 86 west and east.

 

Franktown is a small town home to a few shopping areas, restaurants, churches and schools. Shopping areas include Quality Landscape & Soil Products and Sterling Auto Sales-Franktown. Food establishments include Stagecoach, Subway, El Cerrito Family Restaurant, and Adriana’s Mexican Restaurant. Schools include Arbor Valley Nursery, Castlewood Community Preschool, and Franktown Elementary. Places of worship within Franktown include Holy Spirit Church, ChristLife Community Church, and Franktown Seventh-day Adventist Church. Trails and open spaces within the town include Hidden Mesa Open Space, Cherry Creek Trail, and Whispering Pines Park.
